That is an issue. I found a good UK book "Essential Buyer's Guide" on fleabay for the w107. Make a long checklist and have a small kit with mirrors and goodies to do a 1 hour inspection. I show up with my clipboard, mirrors, magnets, and stuff. Most of the time they bug eyes and start to sweat when the full physical begins. Each "hidden" flaw sucks the offer price down. One day I will find a reasonable car at a reasonable price. Gump was a dumb luck find and worth every dollar paid to purchase. All $120.
