One of the other posts in one of the threads I linked to mentioned positioning of the passenger side mount also. When I did the alternator on SIL Focus, I took that mount loose for clearance. It is in a kind of slot IIRC. If nothing else, you now have two pretty good forums to peruse for Focus answers.
