'Sounds familiar, but I appreciate all the help I can get.

'Reminds me: On a Sunday afternoon in July, '75, on I-90 in mid-Iowa, (moving from MI UP to Atwater, CA) all red lights on '71 Chrysler inst panel came on, pwr steering and engine died while cruising at 75 mph. On shoulder of road, I opened hood, saw nothing unusual under hood, but when I tried to start the car, engine wouldn't turn over, but 10-year-old # 2 son yelled, "Look, Dad, this belt right here is trying to slip on that pulley." Shonuff, AC compressor had seized; 'cut belt with knife and was on way to next town; replaced compressor, etc., at a Chrysler stealership next morning.
