Y'all might recall that I asked a week or so ago if there was a trick to
removal of the old battery. i have since discovered what that trick is
and have my wife to thank for the idea. She was watching me try to
wiggle the battery out and noted that the windshield washer resevoir was
moving with the battery. She asked if I should take it out and I
discovered that it just lifts out from a couple of metal doodads that
cause it to wedge itself in. Once the resevoir was out of the way, the
battery lifted right out with no resistance at all.
New battery is in and I am now about to attend to some other issues on
the car.
