I think those are original. The 300D was a big splash back in 1976.
The was the first "lesser class" car to have stereo etc from MB.
Some of the 600s may have had stereo, and maybe early 70s SELs. But
the 76 was the first MB Diesel mit factory stereo in the NA market
My 76 300D has speakers mounted on the kick panels on both sides in
the front. The box is black and maybe 4" square.
I had assumed they were original but maybe not.
