It could be worse - you could be working on a Cherokee.  Or as
Cessna 210.

For those who haven't had the "privilege" of working under the
instrument panel in general aviation aircraft, a Cessna 182 has
the wings overhead, so the floor is flat.  Take out the seat and
there is room to get under and behind.  A Piper Cherokee is a
low wing aircraft, so the wing struts occupy a large tunnel
athwart the cabin so the floor is NOT flat.

The experience is similar to what I would expect if I were to
try to work under the dash of my W123 with the door closed and
the window open. *grin*
