Great! Remember what I told the other poster about using 2 sheet metal screws with rubber gaskets, otherwise you'll waste a lot of the POR15. You'll only need a little for this project.
I've got a can of POR15 gas tank sealer on my workbench that is, I think, 2 years old. I originally bought it to seal a lantern.
