Texas is thinking about undoing the inspection. It's probably because a
good portion of the population ignores it all or circumvents it.

It'd be interesting to see an unbiased comparison of accidents in states that
have inspection and those that don't to see if inspection helps anything.
Certainly the 5 minutes the guy spends on my car is not worth the $30 charged.
The inspection station only gets like $5 out of that, most of it is a scam from
the state.
