If the tile is unbroken now, and you can knock the grout out and cut the plywood out in tile sized pieces, maybe you have an excuse to buy a gas engine high potency pressure washer to blast the wood/mastic off the back of the tiles so you can reuse them? That way you don't have to buy or cut any tile. Mitch.
