I'm totally divided on this, theres plenty of douchbaggery to go around. On the
one hand the airline could have dealt with it better, on the other hand once
the police are involved you submit or expect things you don't want to happen to
happen.
Apparently the airline didn't realize it needed the seats until the plane was
already loaded. Others have pointed out, and I agree, that they should have
just sucked it up and chartered a plane or put the employees on a competitor's
flight or just figured something else out.
Apparently United has done this before, I see an article today from some money
manager who had paid big bucks for a first class flight only to get bumped from
his seat into economy in a center seat with United paying him the difference
plus a pittance.
I also see an article from Forbes on a family that gave up a vacation for
$4,000 from Delta, twice. I'd have taken that cash too.

Well, again, my only point is that if the airline and "police" can treat this
man this way, then they can do it to you. I don't care what he is or did in the
past, no one deserves to be treated that way. Now UA is saying they are going
to pay everyone on that flight. Again, put yourself in someone else's shoes for
a moment. You may think differently. I still think the gate personnel should
have resolved this in the waiting area and NOT on the plane. Several people
should be fired, both UA employees and the "police" that acted as they did.
Haven't we seen enough police beatings in the past few years.
Just my .02.
Best Wishes,
