In spite of the politicians constant blathering about "the people" and the supposed necessity of giving everyone the same minimum level of comfort and care, the great advances of western civilization have been accomplished by a tiny handful of exceptional leaders. We Americans are very fortunate that Musk didn't stay in S. Africa or Canada and came to this country instead. He shook up the auto industry worldwide, boosted the usability of the internet, and has now shown that private industry can do as well, if not better, than governments in space. We have a new Edison who even has a sense of humor.
