My grandfather worked for them when he lived in LA. Said his
finger stub was because he wore it down ringing doorbells! (Really
a sawmill accident.) This was when kids used to take their rifles
down to the park to pot squirrels, or something like that. That
was awhile ago, obviously!

SURE
that your stuff gets there intact with UPS, insure it for $5000. That
will
put it into the "High Value" category, and it WILL get treated with kid
gloves.
So how do you claim damage to that $5000 muffler? If it arrives
with a scratch or dent on it is it a case of "Look at that, no
way it's worth $5000 now." True enough, I guess...
