At camp a couple weeks ago they forecast 6" of snow, we got a solid 8", made the camp road "interesting", this is outbound, about halfway to the main road. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4886/32089597238_2fab11df2e_b.jpg

The picture is from the top of a small hill. About halfway to the turn Eric stuck his Chebby pickup. We usually tease him for driving too fast in the woods, well this time he was driving too slow. The snow had drifted about 18" and as he wasn't carrying any speed he couldn't make it. I yanked him out with the Dodge. I've got more aggressive tires (General Grabber AT II) and a little more clearance. It was hard getting him out though. This is the first time in the 30 years I've been going to camp we had this much snow, it was cold too, the night after the snow it got down to 4F. We actually plowed out the dooryard: https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4826/46014952672_c3f6e55b68_b.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4900/31126051907_8ff6aa9e36_b.jpg That old 7hp Cub Cadet did the job but just barely, if the snow had been wet or there had been any more it wouldn't have made it. I need to rig a weight box for it... They were predicting another 5 inches of snow on Thursday night so Thursday morning we skedaddled. It just started snowing as I got home... -Curt On Monday, November 26, 2018, 4:54:44 PM EST, Floyd Thursby via Mercedes <mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: butbutbut they have FOUR WHEEL DRIVE! --FT On 11/26/18 11:11 AM, Meade Dillon via Mercedes wrote: > In my old age I've grown far more conservative, and strongly insist that my > family stay off the road unless it is a dire emergency when we get snow > down here in the Low Country.
