I knew I was in trouble the next morning when at 489 miles showing on the trip meter the car really didn't want to start. This car has always fired immediately upon cranking. I got it started and gently drove to the nearest gas station. Changed both fuel filters the next day. Yeah its a 2.2l 5spd. I was a bit ahead of myself saying 40mpg, it was more like 38. -Curt Date: Sat, 1 Apr 2006 21:25:45 -0500 From: John Berryman <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [MBZ] my 190D To: Mercedes Discussion List <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed

I believe the tanks hold 14.5gal so you kinda did run out. Is yours a 2.2 5spd? We had a 1984 that got high 30s and up to 41mpg. I only checked the 2.5 once back in December and it got 34.6 with mixed driving. Johnny B. I Mac Therefore I am --------------------------------- New Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. Another point often overlooked while torquing fasteners is to get the threads clean and straight. Most instructions call for this but few people pay attention. On critical fasteners (head bolts, etc.) I clean the threads and then run a thread chaser before installing the fastener. I know I'm anal, but if this is not done the torque reading means nothing. Yes, with anti seize reduce the torque by between 14-30% for accurate=20 torque depending on the antiseize compound. Contact the manufacturer of the compound for recommendation. Lugs usually aren't too picky, but threading spark plugs or glow plugs=20 or injectors into an aluminum head, that 30% will make the difference=20 between job done and helicoil. ---Robert David Brodbeck wrote: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > =20 >> Next - should I use Anti-Seize on the lug bolts before I tighten and=20 >> "torque" them?
