Hmm, if it increases combustion temperature, this might
be good to use for the occassional thorough Italian Tune-Up...no? And
it would clean at the same time.
Thoughts? If so, how much? 1 qt/tank?

You need to do a little more research!
Mercedes has issued a TSB forbidding the use of ATF as a fuel additive.
They tested it extensively and forbade it's use because it causes
injector coking! Used briefly, it may do some other good (it increases
combustion temperature and is an excellent fuel system solvent) and then
normal operation on untreated fuel will usually disperse the minor
coking one application is likely to cause.

Dave,
AH! Finally I find someone with an Elsbett kit. I really like what I see on
their site as it seems much simpler than the US set ups...I'm talking of the
single tank version. Since it rarely gets very cold here (MO), one could get
by with 100% WVO most of the time and a kero mix the rest of the time. And
it's a reasonably priced system...and it's German :-)
Please tell me more about your Elsbett experience. Do you put the WVO in
your "regular" tank and have a small diesel tank? Where is the small diesel
tank located? What size is it?
THANKS!
Chris

little dirty inside, but nothing major. No where near "coking up" the rings
or anything like that. I don't quite fit your profile because I only run
100% WVO during the summer (> 45F), I thin with kerosene during the winter,
and the oil is heated before it hits the injector pump. I switched to 100%
last week. This morning the car started a little rough at 35F and took a few
minutes to smooth out. I should have plugged it in overnight. Overall, my
results have been good thus far, however I would not recommend this for
everyone.

Here at the Oceanside, CA Costco, soybean oil goes for $12.50 for 35lbs
(4.65 gallons). That's $2.69 per gallon. It runs just great in 300SDs =
and a
95 E300D. Very quiet, smooth and no pblms starting (so far).
Today, #2 was $2.76/gallon at the local Mohsen station, and $3.06 nearer =
the
I-5.

Hmmm... given the current high price of diesel fuel, I wonder what =
veggie=20
oil in bulk is selling for at Costco??
Will have to check it out next time I'm there -
