If you can easily access the solenoid. I've found newer, non American, cars to 
be difficult. The remote switch also allows you a lot more freedom to fiddle 
with other things without having to reach into the engine every time you want 
to trigger the starter.

No need to buy a remote starter switch. Save $20 and use a big
screwdriver from the battery cable on the starter to the solenoid
terminal.
