Bend a length of stiff wire with a short "L" on the end. With the wheel mounted, remove one bolt, insert the "L" end of the wire, and feel where it goes through the drum. Mark the outside to measure the length. Compare that to the bolt - I'd want the bolts to be a little (1mm ?) shorter than the total length of the hole. Yes - there were different length bolts for different wheels, and the aftermarket wheels used yet another bolt length.
