You gotta get her on board. Period. What self-respecting parent doesn’t believe 
that a kid should participate in work around the house, i.e., chores? And I’m 
not talking about the sh*t my Midwestern parents expected, like major work, but 
something as simple as maybe loading the dishwasher after meals or taking out 
the trash on a regular basis. Yeah, I had to make my bed, clean my bathroom and 
do a number of other things on a daily or weekly basis, but it was expected. 
Start out small. Not only that, but it can provide a sense of accomplishment 
and ownership, not to mention help with self-esteem.

Self-entitlement is an ugly thing and near impossible to reverse. You’ll pay a 
serious price for it in the long term.
