FYI, I've uploaded a stack which demos alphablending, the blend ink, and
the blendlevel property. What you can do is open the stack up in 2.3 to
see the images without alphablending, then open them up in 2.4 to see
them with alphablending. You can find the stack at:

I'll upload other stacks demonstrating qt visual effects and how to
rotate and edit the alpha channel of an image programmatically using the
image and alphadata properties later this weekend.
