Just do not let people like Sean talk about numbers from 2006, might we remind him that the current year is 2010. Also just take a look at current openings should be enough of an exercise.
My point is what you bring to the table in skills, the more the better. Just being a programmer or just being a system admin is not going to pay as well as bringing more skills to the table. This is true for any profession in any market so numbers are not really needed for my point.
