Thanks for all the responses. I have not fully given up on the electrical/construction field. As suggested, I am going to look into green technologies such as solar, wind, and geothermal. These times may just push me into venturing out on my own. I will be taking a course provided by my Union in June (Programmable Logic Controllers), just to help add to my marketable skills.
I will be doing more searching and following some of the provided tips. I went to the NYS DOL OneStop center for guidance and to inquire about education grants. The grants are all used up ATM, and I'll be checking back in July, when they are let out. The only free, computer related training the DOL was able to offer me, is the BillGATES empire training, oddly known as ElevateAmerica. I did get to witness some users getting support from DOL workers, while trying to download some resource material, on their crippled MS Windows workstations. I will be completing as many ElevateAmerica courses allowed. I am sure the skills needed to support and administer MS products will improve my marketability in the computer arena. Thanks again, and I'll update as I progress. Cheers, Eric
