Tried it all, nothing helped. Then I reloaded the miamiinit settings, and
now it dials and connects, but sits there saying "Configuring PPP level
LCP". Finally it gives up and a requester says "Miami is unable to
configure the link level protocol." I'm using SurfSquirrel as the serial
device. Have there been any Miami problems with this?
What I don't get is that the ancient TermiteTCP continues to work seamlessly
with this new ISP with the old settings. This being the case, the Miami
failure is more a disappointment than a crisis - - I was mostly
interested in registering Miami for the SSL. Maybe I'll just wait and hope
IBrowse gets its own decent SSL layer soon.
In case you're interested, Miamiinit sets this string:
AT&F\Q3S71=2S80=0&C1&D0\r. The modem is a Zoom V.34. Miamiinit sets it at a
speed of 115200, which seems to work as well as any.
