Miami NEVER asks for the number you are calling from, so there is nowhere
for it to go in any init or settings file, and no way it could make any
difference, if as you say, your ISP(s) do not do callback or caller ID.
AFAIK, Windoze only asks for the area code, so that doesn't really apply
there either.
I think we must have our wires crossed, because what you are describing
makes no sense to me at all. I have connected to the same ISP (Earthlink)
from half a dozen different states, from homes, and motels and never entered
anything into Miami other than the local dialup number. Certainly you
aren't talking about that, because I'm sure you know that you can put
several numbers in the list for dialing and enable/disable them at will.
Let us know if you figure it out. Perhaps your solution will shed some
light on what the problem actually was in the first place. I know I'm at a
loss...
