I guess I should feel fortunate with my ISP which lets me run 5 computers
each with a fixed IP and any servers I want, with the polite request that I
not serve up LINUX OS images or streaming movies and stuff like that. I am
prohibited from running a web hosting business too, for example. However,
they give me domain name server support, lots of help, and all that for only
about $18.00 a month. Cool, huh. ADSL at the medium speed level. I would pay
more for the highest speed. I can't remember what that was.
As for the DHCP thing, would it really be all that inconvenient as long as
the ISP routes things properly to your machine subdomain?
