For my walls I used MD particle board or chip board panels in their side [4'
high] for impact and abrasion resistance, painted , then put white 1/4"
hole pegboard panelling, again sideways, above that all screwed into place.
Lots of  storage, lots of peg board hooks.
I panelled my paint room and doors in white board panels, also just screwed in
place. I can wipe down the paint room rather easily and can even write on the
doors with dry erase markers like a school teacher. No taping,
sanding, painting or further finishing required, and the screws fit the whole
motorhead theme just fine. I think the final cost was less and the time was far
less than any sheetrock type finish.
All standard Home Depot/ Lowes box store stuff.
