CanonicalName is used only when apache must generate a redirect, such as to
add a trailing / to directory requests.
If the host name does match, will midgard grab it before or after apache
gets a chance to apply any rewrite rules?
I guess if it is a host alias, it will fall through to the file system and
some .htaccess rewrite rules could redirect to the canonical hostname.
