Both VCD/SVCD and DVD formats had the same symptoms. They did play on other, cheaper players. As I'm a newbie to dvd production I can't say whether I am unwittingly producing the same burn circumstances, but it seems unlikely. I stick to very simple commands, most of which have been posted on the list with my enquiries.
