I have a receipt from the original owner of my '91 GTi from when he traded back the dealer the 15" rims and tires for some 14" teardrops shortly after he bought the car. Trouble is, the 205-55 Pirelli P600's he has on there are just about gone, and noone makes that size in a street tire anymore. Guess I'll have to resort to the stock size (185-60) unless anyone's got a plus size they've been successful with?</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>Neil</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>'91 GTi</FONT></DIV> <BLOCKQUOTE style="BORDER-LEFT: #000000 2px solid; MARGIN-LEFT: 5px; MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 5px; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px"> <DIV style="FONT: 10pt arial">----- Original Message ----- </DIV> <DIV style="BACKGROUND: #e4e4e4; FONT: 10pt arial; font-color: black"><B>From:</B> <A href="mailto:[email protected]" [email protected]>Neil Hartman</A> </DIV> <DIV style="FONT: 10pt arial"><B>To:</B> <A href="mailto:[email protected]" [email protected]>A2-16v list</A> </DIV> <DIV style="FONT: 10pt arial"><B>Sent:</B> Monday, January 10, 2000 1:16 PM</DIV> <DIV style="FONT: 10pt arial"><B>Subject:</B> wheel help needed quickly</DIV> <DIV><BR></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Well,</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I need to ditch the 15" BBS from the GLI. He was asking $5700, I got him down to 5 even. Then he was interested in a '90 Jetta Carat that someone gave me (clean car many problems, "girl" color [light metallic green]). We finally settled for $47k. Yes, the car shudders when you take off, unless you poke it immediately. It will also do the vrummp, vrummp, vrummp thing if you try to crawl along in 1st gear. Motor mount eh? Which one? The fuel injector lines are steel with rubber sleeves over them. Does this indicate a genuine 2.0? ----- Original Message ----- From: brandt delorenzo <[email protected]> To: smerkur <[email protected]>; Neil Hartman <[email protected]>; A2-16v list <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, January 10, 2000 8:54 PM Subject: Re: New ride, minor glitches, couple mysteries > Hey, you picked up a good car, how much did you pay? > > To check if it is a 2.0 or a 1.8, look at the fuel > injection lines.
