Hey, this is how it is: It's the year 2000, and in about 6 months, 2001-year-model cars are going to be on the road. It's always been like that. That's why last year, my friend bought a '2000 VW, but it was 1999. So when you look at the door jam of his car, it says 1999. When you look at the original sticker that was on the car, it says 2000. Same thing with the GTI 16V's. My car is a 1991 year model GTI 16V, but my door jam says it was built in october 1990. That's just how it is. That's why you have 1982 Rabbit GTI's, and 1986 GTI 16V's.
