In-correct-amundo, Chris! You may still have your car inspected at a private
shop. Yes, the shop needs to have installed the (approx $50k) dyno and
associated computer stuff, but it is still an option and the inspection will
be good for 2 years, same as the state stations.

In the past we were able to get our cars inspected in privately run
shops.
As of this year, however, we have the expanded inspection.  You know,
the
one where they your car on a rolling dyno and take it through a cycle of
different speeds/loads.  As a result, all motor vehicle inspections will
be
performed by state shops.
