just wondering if any of you have seen or had exhaust problems with the
16v's

Ive replaced my exaust once in the past 3 years and had it patched up twice.

It seems my problem is that the roll of the engine keeps pulling and
stretching at the exhaust and causes it to pull the pipe out of the backside
of the muffler... this has happened 3x now and been repaired by 3 different
shops.

The exhaust is hung properly with some bushings and a bracket to allow it to
swing a little with the engine, but usualy 8-12 months after I get it welded
back together, it starts to crack again around where it joins the muffler...
making extra 'bubbling' raspy noise at idle.

I drive the car like an old lady and almost never drive it hard enough to
even open up the second barrel on the throttle body. (i want my car to last)
The front motor mount is about 14months old and its now got a straight pipe
where the cat used to be.

I never dump the clutch or shift hard enough to make the engine rock real
bad, all the motions I do are smooth and gradual. But alas, it looks like im
going to have to get my exhaust fixed a 4th time.

Any comments?
