1a.  What yr 16v is it?  The original bottom section - is it the same size
as the top?  IOW, do they clip together correctly, or no?
Heck, Im confused and it's 430am!  

2a.  Yes..  Dumping the clutch is a very high-torque situation... ;)
Do the trans case bolts look freshly eff'd with?  Im assuming this was
supposed to have been installed recently, no?

Aren't the air filters a different size?  Maybe I discovered I had the
CIS-E box for the wrong reasons.  I ordered a K&N for motronic and it
didn't fit... then I saw the cuts I made in 'my old box' and realized
it wasnt' swapped out.  Maybe the K&N is the real mistake.  My mech
might have simply attached the top half to the old bottom.

OK, but you might be hearing from my neighbors.

Doesn't an ATB behave like an open diff under low torque conditions and
more like an LSD during hi-torque ones?
