Holland, I discovered that all I needed was a little help from the e-brake... two lovely black stripes were left behind and now I know.
Still have the MCoupe. How's your GTi... the GTi we all hope ours can be some day. My GTi has undergone some major refurb with the exception of exterior cosmetics (unless you count the fender bender which earned me two additional paint colors with the fender and hood replacement). My GTi looks like sh*t considering it's practically all brand new underneath. I gotta paint the poor thing. I've sorta been 'dumbing it down' for the crappy streets in San Francisco. It's still suprisingly stiff but my fillings aren't falling out now. - found some stock '92 GTi springs and got rid of the Ground Control 325/225 set-up. - replaced my Koni adjustables (never that thrilled with 'em) with Bilstein HDs in front. I figured I earned a taste of Bilstein after all these years of GTi'ing. Still have the Spax in back. - went from urethane cntrl arm bushings to stock with R32 bushing for the big/rear ones (yes they fit... no open gaps, just solid rubber... nice practical upgrade) - new tie-rods, tie-rod ends, ball joints, tie-rod boots - new windshield... wow, what difference! Could be the best upgrade I ever made. i wonder how long it will be before it cracks ;P - new Green Stuff pads/Brembo rotors (the Ferodos just weren't ideal for street use) - and I found a '92 interior that only had a couple years use on it before it was replaced with race seats. Projects that might never get done: - picked up a quad round headlight set - rebuilding my spare 1.8l head and giving it a light porting/smoothing - oh yeah, the paint job Mark --- "Holland J.
