If it's a sunroof car, check the sunroof drain tubes. there are four, one
in each corner.. They tend to get clogged up with leaves, pine needles,
etc.. as well as check the sunroof seal..
Door seals are another area to check..

i'm glad I can share with you all that my car was full of water in the
back driver side floorpan. At least a few gallons. It was high
enough to come up even with the bump in the middle of the floor
between the seats. i got in the car to start it up for the first time
in about a month and decided to feel if the carpet was damp and water
was up to my wrist. Made me jump like a scared little girl.
Maybe I'll start be replacing all the plastic in the doors and see if
the water leak stops? Anything else I should have a look at? I am no
good at troubleshooting water leaks on my vws. I should be because
they all have leaked - maybe its by design. How about I drill some
small holes in the floor where the water puddles up...
