You didn't really give us enough information to guess at what your problem is. You describe one symptom in this message: slow ping times. What else is wrong? Are pages loading slowly? Failing to load? What applications are you running? Are the problems with applications or static pages? Are you running mod_perl at all? How much memory is free? Are you swapping? How are you checking? What platform is this? Have you turned Off the top of my head, your MaxClients is set way too high for a mod_perl box. - Perrin
