Hello Bob,

Morgan? Since no two are alike... ;-) Yours is a 60's Plus 4?

Suggest you borrow a lift for a few hours and follow Owen's suggestion. Your cowl may be painted together..., and the newer cars often have heavy underseal up there, not to mention dealing with custom wing beading. Why disturb all that?

My 1998 Plus 8 had a warranty radiator when newish and was swapped out from below. The rack needed to be loosened and tie rods moved out of the way. I had to center the steering wheel later, so block the wheels first if you need to do that.

You're in Roanoke, right? Worst case, Morgan Fuller can do it for you in Upperville. There isn't much Fuller doesn't know about the way Morgans over here of all vintages go together. I'd not trust anyone else though! Currently he's working out of here: <http://www.britishandclassics.com/test/index.asp> Not around the corner of course. 140 miles from me in Goochland too.

Regards,

William

I am at that age where jacking way up and crawling around on the ground isn't as inviting as it used to be. With no one around who even knows what a Morgan is within a couple of hundred miles, I can't let one of our local shadetree mechanics near it. The bonnet removal is easy, I have done it several times as well as the grille. I have seen many pictures with the cowl removed so I figured it probably was a fairly simple procedure and with masking tape protecting the paint around the edges I hoped it would be easy to do?
