One man can do it fairly easily with a sheet between the two halves to protect paintwork when removing/replacing.
Have an area where the bonnets can be laid down on their bulkhead ends ready with a protective sheet to save any damage. Mark exactly on the wings where the cowl was before removal and measure gap twixt cowl and bulkhead so that it can be replaced, (I was going to type correctly, but on reflection,) as it was before removal! The top two bolts at each side are a pain to get at but otherwise fairly otherwise a straight forward task. Cowl removal needs the bonnet removed and that although quick, is a two man job. rgds Martyn On Jul 21 2012, Owen Jenkins wrote: Why not install the radiator from below? Jack the car up as high as you can, support on axle stands at max. height, disconnect the fan and so the change from below. I did this without difficulty some years ago in my 4/4. I have a alloy radiator to install and it seems that with no cowl, the radiator could be dropped right in.
