I think your car would be  Hotwire injection, in which case you will find some
improvement from chipping , but don't expect too much. The Librands exhausts
will make much more difference than chipping. 4.6 cars definitely need a
Tornado chip, 4.0 cars definitely need a chip for both fuel and ignition , and
the latter are also the cars that benefit from the knock sensors (MMC omitted
to fit them) .

For the 3.9 Hotwire cars the differences are more subtle, but the drivability
does improve and the response is certainly better, but don't expect more power
or better fuel consumption. The standard chip is designed to fuel the engine a
little lean and run the engine hotter, in order to keep down the emissions ,
changing the priorities to correct mixture does richen the fuelling maps and
thus improve drivability.

Personally I think the Tornado is the better choice , the Optimax appears to be
focused on better economy, but the Tornado is biased towards performance, and
in a light car the latter is the better option.

I am not sure that knock sensors are an option for this system , because I
don't think the ecu has the feedback loops integrated into the ignition maps,
but there are others who know far more than I about this system, and I will
stand corrected by one them.

Andy
