No,

But I was just perusing Mulfab's website the other day, and I think when my
original tank (I think it's original) gives up I will fit one of their larger
stainless tanks to my 4/4.
8.5 - 9 gals is a little small for me... Particularly as I'm used to 400 mile
range on the MINI Cooper D... :o)

Cheers,

  Mike
I am with you , I never get much past 200 miles without looking out keenly
for my next fuel stop.

I average about 25 mpg when cruising , (but much less on give and take
country roads! well it is a +8 after all) so that equates to 8 gallons. The
exact capacity of the tank is something of a mystery. I have never managed to
get more than 43 litres into it (about 9.5 gallons), so I am presuming that at
200 miles I have 1.5 gallons spare to travel to the next service station.
I have certainly never managed to get anywhere near 51 litres, on the
original invoice from MMC they itemised 45 litres of fuel , can I assume that
was a full tank?

When this tank starts leaking (hopefully some way off yet), I plan to replace
it with a larger capacity one in stainless steel. There is space to broaden the
tank as there is no longer a pump mounted alongside it (as per Flapper
injection cars) By rough calculation I reckon that I should be able to get at
least another 2 gallons.
Has anyone else had a special tank made up for a road going +8?

  Regards

  Andy

Hadn't thought of lifting my foot, rather defeats the point of a plus 8!

I've never dared go more than 200 miles without refuelling, though I ought
to take a can of petrol with me and see just how far I can go.
