Get Bob to show you a picture of the "bridge deck" board that we designed for 
GO! (M 17).  It not only allows you to sit athwartships, but can be moved aft 
and become a cockpit table.  Bob put formica on the up surface and rails to 
keep the plates on.  When varnished it is going to look quite nice.  It will 
stow below easily when not in use.  Cheers.  Skip
