Greetings,
We're researching various "pocket cruisers" to enhance our retirement years
on the water. Having owned a Skipper 20 and a Morgan OutIsland 30, we've
decided a trailerable boat is best for our needs.
As you know, Montgomery has no dealership network, so unless you live in or
near California, it's difficult to view one of these boats. We currently live
in Mentone Alabama, but are in the process of selling our log cabin here and
relocating to Decatur, on Lake Wheeler. With that said, we have been
unsuccessful in locating an M17 owner within 150 miles of us. Then we found
the MSOG site, which gave us hope.
We are primarily interested in seeing one of these boats to determine if the
cabin is going to be suitable for 3/4 nights on the hook. It would be nice if
the manufacturers would show photos of people inside the cabins, sitting,
laying down and displaying storage of items. But they generally show the
boats' sailing with a happy crew in the cockpit, or static photos of the boat
from different angles.
We have also contacted the manufacturer with similiar questions; we're
waiting for their response. However, it's always better to obtain information
and comments from the owners'; they generally will provide you with an unbiased
opinion.
In closing, any information would be greatly appreciated. Any M17 owners'
out there within a 150 miles of Mentone AL 35984 (or Chattanooga TN) who would
be willing to let us take a quick look at their boat, that would be great!
Early thanks for any help you can provide....John and Joy Merrell
