I have been watching the postings know nothing more that a number of Monroe collectors have always been on the lookout for the Monroe card(s) from the French Line. But like Rick, I have heard of this card for years and this is the first time we have actually offered these cards. I know there is varying opinions as to whether the card six is Monroe but card three is certainly a more direct shot and likeness. Is there any known proof of her appearing on the set? Not that I am aware of, but having collected Monroe cards over the last thirty years I would often get the question, do you have the French Line card or cards?

There is no mention of her being involved in the film in IMDB. As there is a notation in the Heritage auction that she appeared in card 3 and 6, maybe Grey Smith could give us some more information on whether there is actually a record of this or if it is just anecdotal. She may also be on the other card, but the coloring & printing of the card make it difficult to be sure look at the link provided by Dave Rosen Rich At 11:09 AM 12/22/2010, Matthew McCarthy wrote: it was kim novak who was "discovered" by harry cohn in that scene of the film, on the stairs in that fashion show. she's one of the girls. mm might have been visiting but considering how difficult it was for her to get onto a set (on time, at least), i doubt she would be interested in a casual cameo. I always heard that Marilyn Monroe appeared in one of the lobby cards. Recently, I acquired 6 lobby cards from that film, one of which (card # 3) is a song-and-dance sequence with Russell and another brunette in the foreground---behind them are 4 men in tuxedos and cowboy hats and a dozen beautiful women, one of whom I'm certain is Marilyn Monroe. Why don't we hear more mention of "the Marilym Monroe 'French Line' lobby card"? I would think it would be quite collectable. Can anyone offer any insight into this? Hey, if that isn't Marilyn Monroe, I'll eat all six of the lobby cards for breakfast!
