SA: Thank you. I love hearing about your painting. Haven't heard
about it for awhile. Do you paint more in the colder season? By
the way, I have an artwork that is pretty much finished. Waiting on
my brother who works for weeks on the railroad in different states
to come back and finish up his end of the project. Next, finding a
way to share in a more proper fashion this artwork of mine. I think
it is good. The sharing is something that will complete this
endeavor. It doesn't matter how good. It does matter for me that I
can share this. Something I wrote off-list to you about. It would
be better to finish this project than to discuss it any further, but
it is finished and even if it stays in the family, it will help the
family see how those before them thought, felt, and handled life spiritually.
SA,
Your project sounds wonderful. When I first joined this forum
someone mentioned life as art. I think that is how I want to
experience it. I'm sure your project is wonderful from the way to
talk about it. It's all about how you give it life.
I had been very productive, and needed some time away painting. The
summer will soon end and things will get quiet again, then I will
start painting. Plus, I'm going to take a class with my favorite
instructor, Robert Baxter. His class is called Painting the Figure
in the Interior in Oils. I can hardly wait to paint directly from
models again, and he sets up great poses with interesting
accessories. He's an older guy, very, very cool and knows ZMM very
well. His paintings are wonderful. He had a career as graphic
designer in NYC. You can see its influence and how he's translated
it to art (rather than for clients). He also works beautifully with
patterns. There is always some exotic pattern to keep your eye
forever interested. Sort of like Matisse. I'm very excited to start
this class. I've worked hard for the past few years, but it's time
to add something new. I'm sure this class will be
inspirational. I'm get excited just thinking about it.
I had an older woman I met, via the Registrar of Voting, offer to
model for me. She's a nice, beautiful and an interesting woman. It
would be fun. I also have the cute, young tree cutter, but I'm too
afraid. I took lots of photos of him from a roof when he chopped
down the dead Ash tree. I think I'm going to ask him to take some
photos from the canopy. In his case, it would be better to work from
the photos. He's too adorable.
I love to paint, and paint to love.
Marsha
