I don't know if beginning a grassroots drive to reincarnate Whole Language would be so crazy...seems that there are a "whole" bunch of teachers who know the promise of Whole Language pedagogy ...and are ready to defend it's reputation and educate others of the misinformation that brought about it demise. A valuable part of growth in literacy. The phonics I hate oversimp lifies and is taken out of context and occurs in one size fits all and on and on.
