Our district uses Literacy by Design.  It is a balanced literacy program
that uses the workshop approach.  If you want more info. You can check it
out at www.literacybydesign.com.  Used some good people as
authors/consultants...Hoyt, Marzano and Opitz to name a few.

Great question...I think they could be further differentiated by philosophy.
I am interested in the best programs that follow the philosophy of this web
site not the most used. I already know Lucy Calkins is probably the best but
which of the major publishers is most closely aligned to her workshop
