Unnecessary. This can be configured in /etc/Muttrc by a line
{{{set hostname="`cat /etc/mailname`"}}}
or
{{{source '/etc/someScriptName.sh|'}}}
if you don't trust /etc/mailname to have only one line with FQDN, and
someScriptName.sh itself constructs
{{{echo 'set hostname=this.and.that'}}}
somewhere.
