Sorry for not catching this thread earlier.  My main box blew up and I'm 
still in the middle of trying to work out of my media server box until 
I'm back up.

You are right - unless someone else submitted code I have not done much 
with mclient recently.  Mclient emulates the older Squeeze Box clients.  
It does not contain code to connect and communicate the way contemporary 
Squeeze Center clients do.  We would have to junk much of the mclient 
network code to make the switch.  But I think the higher level code 
(i.e. fetching album covers) should continue to work. I am at a loss to 
explain why the mvpmc box resets.  I'll have to see if I can get a mvpmc 
box up and running and check what is going on.

I do have a "real" Squeeze Box client which I will test with first.  
I'll try to post back those results to form a base line (i.e. do the 
older Squeeze Box clients still work).  Personally, I would be really 
surprised if Logitech / SlimDevices has made the older clients obsolete.
