Ha, one of mine still sits in it original shrink wrap.

I don't have one, but I believe later mediamvp's added wifi using a
compact flash socket. I could be wrong, but you might simply be able to
swap out an old wifi card for a new one. Then look into controlling it
for WPK. I don't think it is possible to upgrade from WEP only to WPK
w/o a wifi hardware change.

It would be a simple matter to add a access point wifi box to even the
1st generation mediamvp in order to support WPK.

I believe this is also what the mythtv squeezslave developer (can't
remember his name) used for that mythtv plug in. I'm not sure how hard
that would be to port from its offered form to something suitable for an
embedded environment (i.e. no mass storage, weaker processor, limited
memory, platform specific interface to sound hardware, ect.)

No kidding. I mean, yes, I believe you. The hold outs are that there
are still fans in many of these boxes and other such remnants of desk
top PC which are not suitable for 24/7 operation a-top your stereo
equipment stack. And those boxes which have made the hardware jump
(i.e. most are SigmaDesign based designs) are so closed to opensource
efforts that most people have simply given up on them. And most of this
hardware has falling into the "back hole"...: LightOn DVD players, Sony
Dash Media boxes, Some Happaugge boxes, ...

Happauge already has an HD box that is (I believe) SigmaDesign based.
So I doubt they are too interested in supporting this IBM based design
inside the mediamvp.

Interesting talk, but need to run.
