Hi Gareth,

There is a trope among American entrepreneurs wherein one refers to a
new, yet to be formally named company as "NewCo" or "NewCorp".  This
is a placeholder only, until trademarks are registered and/or other
intellectual property issues are handled, else the landscape would be
littered with companies with names that start with New.  A similar
situation exists in the case of M&A holding companies with names like
"Foobar Ventures IV", which eventually change their formal name to the
well-recognized name of the organization that they have acquired.
