At the time there were a few pieces left in Solaris that couldn't handle
style 2 properly (I think snoop was one of them), but I think they are
all fixed now.
Note that there are pieces that cannot handle style-1 either. For example, a
diskless boot still depends on the style-2 device node, as there is no /dev
symbol links. So that it can only try to open the
"/devices/pseudo/[EMAIL PROTECTED]:<drv>" node.
